Newspaper Illustrations    After I had finished my first illustrations using another artist style my next challenge was to look in a newspaper, magazine, blog etc. and pick an article, then I was to highlight the main words which the article was describing the story in which the article was about. When I first read this challenge I wasn't very enthusiastic about it because I tend to stay away from the news with it being so negative ... So I picked up the newspaper from the buses which is called the metro and I flicked through, I chose a news clipping about President Trump naturally because he's all over the news these days and one about Space which is a guilty pleasure of mine!  Ear ear! Trumps very bunny Easter speech    This article was my first pick and its about President Trump host the White House's 139th annual Easter egg roll. The article describes that Trump stood on a balcony with an Easter bunny and he seemed to have grown a giant pair of ears...we

My Illustrations       For my first exercise I had to draw two an Illustration in the style of the Artist I had picked from the list which was E. H. Shepard and one in the contemporary artist that I had chosen which was Patrick Hruby.    As I read the exercise my first thought was 'Okay this could be great' but then as I started to think it became difficult as I didn't know what to draw! So I looked back at all my past drawings and I found what they had all in common was Nature.. I look drawing animals, plants etc.    First I looked at how E.H. Shepard had done his drawings, fine lined with a pen, Fun Colours and the characters had there personality. So I created my own little creature...   I used for this illustration Pin Fine Line Pens and Moz Art Water Coloured Pens, I wanted to use E. H. Shepard style of Art but still incorporate my own style into the drawing to. I think the colours are bright to make it a light picture and a few dark bits

23rd April 2017 Contemporary Artist ' Contemporary Art is the art of today, produced by artists who are living in the twenty -first century. Contemporary Art provides an opportunity to reflect on contemporary society and the issues relevant to ourselves, and the world around us.'        For the next part of my research I had to choose a Contemporary Artist. I did some research on the artist that are around today and it was a tough decision I ended up with six artists to choose from, the top three artist I managed to get it down to were: Sophy Henn     I really liked her work she is not only an illustrator but she writes her own children stories to go with the illustrations. I like her work because it was colourful, playful, simple and cartoon like characters which to me is eye catching, after looking through her work I especially liked her character Pom the Panda Bear.    The design of the book is simple but very eye-catching with the choice o

E.H Shepard Research and Thoughts      For my first assignment I start by selecting a Illustrator from a list of six that interest me the most: Edward Bowden, Edward Ardizzone, Kathleen Hale, John Milton, Eric Ravilious or Earnest Howard Shepard. I personally thought this was a tough decision as they all interested me in different ways! As I looked into the Illustrators work one by one I picked them off till I made the decision on Earnest Howard Shepard.    I then had to research information on Shepard and there was not a lot of information out there about him. I had managed to find that from the age of seven he loved to draw and he favorited drawing battle scenes which is very different compared to what he ended up drawing in the future, He developed an interest in illustrators in the 1860s and hoped to contribute to  Punch.     Punch  was an magazine that ran from 1841-2002.It was first published on July 17th, 1841. It was renowned internally for its wit and irreverence, and
